The suspended Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo, is the subject of an ongoing inquiry, according to Abia State Governor Alex Otti.
The governor declared that she will be prosecuted in the event that the accusations made against her are proven true.
“The suspension of the Commissioner of Health is based on allegations of suspicion. A committee has already been established, and the results of their investigation will be forthcoming,” Governor Otti explained.
He added that Dr. Okoronkwo will be returned to her job if she is found not guilty of any crimes. On the other hand, she will face the consequences of her actions should she be proven guilty.

Governor Otti discussed the dismissal of his former chief press secretary, Kazie Uko, with reporters in Umuahia on Friday night, characterising it as a component of a larger reorganisation initiative. That “no appointment is permanent” was something he stressed.
On the other hand, Governor Otti reiterated his determination to bring those accountable for the recent deaths of soldiers at Obikabia Junction.
He stated, “We are dedicated to ensuring the security of our state and will leave no stone unturned in investigating the incident. We have been receiving updates and will share further information at the appropriate time. We have empowered Operation Crush to combat crime across the state.”
