On Friday morning, Nigerian Police officers opened fire with tear gas canisters on a gathering of demonstrators at the Berger Bridge in Abuja.
Some surprised motorists and bystanders could be heard accusing the police of being haughty.
Earlier, a proposal to limit protestors to the MKO Abiola National Stadium was approved by an Abuja High Court.
Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), encouraged protestors to heed the court decision on Thursday night, but protest organisers argued they had not received a copy of the decree.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, protests are still going on countrywide in all 36 states as well as Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
