Popular Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy from the famous music duo P-Square, has voiced his deep frustration over the ongoing rift between him and his brothers, Peter Okoye (Mr P) and Jude Okoye. Despite no longer working together professionally, Paul expressed his dismay at their inability to reconcile as a family.
The long-standing feud between the Okoye brothers took a more dramatic turn recently when Paul accused his twin brother, Peter, of attempting to have him arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). This accusation was revealed during a recent interview, adding further tension to the already strained relationship.
In response, Peter publicly denied the allegations through an open letter on social media. He clarified that his concerns were directed towards uncovering the truth about a secret company, Northside Music, allegedly owned by their elder brother, Jude Okoye, and his wife, Ifeoma.
Jude Okoye, who has been at the center of the controversy, addressed the situation in an Instagram live session, where he refuted Peter’s claims that he diverted P-Square’s royalties, amounting to millions of dollars, into a private account. Jude described these accusations as baseless and without merit.
The public fallout among the Okoye brothers has left fans and followers of P-Square disappointed, especially after the group’s previous split in 2017 and their brief reunion in 2021. Paul’s recent plea for unity underscores the emotional impact the feud has had on the family.
During an Instagram live session on Monday, August 19, 2024, Paul, also known as Rudeboy, made an emotional appeal, stating, “Even if we don’t do P-Square, can’t we be brothers? Even if we can’t do music, can’t we be brothers? Like I said, I don’t want to talk much. I didn’t use to talk before. It’s so unfortunate.”
