The Traditional Ruler of Umudim Community, His Highness, Obi Benneth Okafor (Amakwu) has denied the claim in some quarters that the community has a written rotation arrangement.

In an interview with Anaedoonline, Obi Benneth Okafor warned those who are trying to leverage the claim that the community has a rotation and zoning principle to desist from it, noting that the so-called rotation arrangement only exists in the imagination of those trying to use the claim to score cheap political goal.

Reacting to the speculation that Nnewi North Chairmanship has been zoned to Umudim Ward 1, he said that Chairmanship position which has been zoned to Umudim Nnewi community is open for all sons and daughters of Umudim to contest, and no political party should close the door against any of the aspirants on the basis of rotation.

On the issue that Umudim 1 has been cheated, he argued that the claim is absolutely wrong, insisting that all election that have been zoned to Umudim in the past was contested by people from ward, revealing that Hon. Chris Azubuogu, who spent 12 years in the National Assembly, hails from Umudim Ward 1.

He denied the claim in some quarters that he has endorsed a particular candidate, noting that he is not a member of any political party and as traditional ruler, all the aspirants are his sons and daughters.

Umudim Ward 1 consists of Inyaba, Inyaba Ngo, Uru, Umuezeokalum, Akabo, Umuele, and Umunnealam, while Umudim Ward 2 consists of Okpuno-egbu, Umudimkwa, Obiuno, Umunwakanwa Akamiili, Umuezena and Ebeleogo.
