Delta State Governor Commits to Enhancing Security and Development on State’s 33rd Anniversary

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to collaborating with security agencies to address the issues of kidnapping, cultism, and other criminal activities in the state. Speaking during a thanksgiving service at the Government House Chapel in Asaba, marking the 33rd anniversary of Delta State’s creation, Oborevwori emphasized the importance of sustainable peace for the state’s development.

He highlighted the strides made over the past 15 months, noting that his administration has invested heavily in infrastructural development across all sectors of the state’s economy. This includes significant upgrades to healthcare facilities, improvements in the educational environment, and the implementation of social investment programs aimed at supporting the poor and vulnerable.

Oborevwori assured residents that the state government is working diligently to maintain peace and security, which he identified as essential for Delta State’s continued progress. He praised the efforts of security agencies and pledged ongoing cooperation to ensure the safety of all residents. Reflecting on his MORE Agenda, the governor reiterated his promise to enhance peace and security in the state, acknowledging the challenges but expressing confidence in the collective efforts to overcome them.

The thanksgiving service also featured a sermon by Pastor Shiyanbade Adekunle, State Mission Overseer of Living Faith Church, who encouraged all Deltans to give thanks for the blessings in their lives and the state’s achievements.
