Former Anambra State Commissioner of Industry and Commerce, Dr. Obinna Ngonadi, has dumped the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), for Labour Party.
Anaedoonline.ng gathered that the former Commissioner have secretly joined Labour Party, as he begins his ground plan to contest for House of Representative for Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Consitutency, ahead of 2027.
A top stakeholder of Labour Party in Nnewi North, who pleaded for anonymity confirmed to our correspondent that Obinna Ngonadi have registered as a member of the party few months ago, but may have chosen to keep it secret.
He also confirmed that Dr. Obinna, who is one of the sons of respected Nnewi Billionaire, Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi, joined the party with over sixty (60) persons, who have also registered as members of the party.
Dr. Obinna Ngonadi, who had a private meeting in Abuja earlier in the year with 2023 Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, is already plotting his way back to mainstream with his plan to contest for House of Representative, position and recent romance with some groups in Nnewi.
It will be recalled that last year, he reportedly resigned his position as Anambra State Commissioner Trade, Commerce and Industry, after he was pressured by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, to resign. While a report had it that the Governor was disappointed with his performance, another said he was blackmailed into resigning.
What is also not clear is if Obinna Ngonadi have officially resigned his membership of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), a party he was the leader in Nnewi North, before Governor Soludo relieved him of his appointment.
