All parties involved in the Edo State gubernatorial election on September 21 (tomorrow) are urged by President Bola Tinubu to act honourably and peacefully.
Respecting the democratic process and the decision of the people, the President urged the candidates running for governor, political parties, and supporters in a statement issued by his Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Tinubu emphasised that politeness, tolerance, patience, and respect for the rules of the game are essential for democracy to flourish, stating that he believes voters can make informed selections about their future leaders.

He claims that the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, is dedicated to holding a free and fair election and that it is the mutual responsibility of all parties involved to guarantee a smooth and successful process.
The President praised the political parties and candidates running for governor of Edo State, saying that their campaigns have centred on themes that are important to the people of the state, such as enhancing lives, fostering economic growth, and advancing the development of the country.
Throughout the voting process, he pleaded with all state residents to maintain composure and civility and to settle any disputes through the established channels.
Nonetheless, Tinubu urged INEC personnel and security services to maintain objectivity and refrain from taking any steps that may jeopardise the integrity of the election process, expressing trust in their professionalism and honesty.
