According to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra who is currently incarcerated, he is the last person in Nigeria to be persecuting the Igbo people.
Kanu insisted that the trend cannot continue and that this is the main justification for his push for Igbo independence.
During the resumption of his trial hearing at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday, the leader of IPOB made this statement.
IPOB Charges Tinubu Govt To ‘Hands Off’ Nnamdi Kanu’s Case
“This Persecution of the Igbo people in Nigeria, this almost global orchestrated persecution of Igbo people stops with me. It can never happen. I am campaigning for the freedom of my people, as simple as that.”
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Justice Binta Nyako declared she will step down from the Kanu trial.
This follows Kanu’s declaration that the trial judge ought to step down from overseeing his case and that he had lost faith in the legal system.
