The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that it is confident it will seize Rivers State in the near future.

This was said at a gathering in Abuja on Thursday by Abdullahi Ganduje, the party’s national chairman.

Ganduje emphasised that in order to create a stronghold in Rivers State, the party’s chapter there would be reconstructed and repositioned.

Rebuilding the party’s Rivers State chapter and using it as a platform to successfully serve the state’s and the nation’s citizens were the leaders’ main topics of discussion.

Ganduje emphasised the party’s dedication to upholding justice while embracing a range of interests.

He praised George’s political savvy and called him a big fish, saying he was confident he could increase the party’s power.

George was greeted by Ganduje, who assured him that a strong facility would be built to house him and the other returning members.

“Rivers State will be completely APC. You are now equal members with every other member of the party. We are bent on widening democracy in the country,” Ganduje added.

His remarks coincide with the ongoing struggle over control of the party’s structure in the state between Sim Fubara, the governor of the state, and Nyesom Wike, his predecessor who is currently the FCT Minister in the APC-led administration.
