The traders, motorcyclist, motorists and other road users of the popular Nkwo Nnewi market in Nnewi North Anambra state have complained over the bad condition of roads leading to and fro the market.
The roads which have become worsened following the poor state of the drainage system in the roads leading to the market.
Some of the traders who spoke to Anaedoonline.com complained bitterly how the roads have affected their businesses.
Speaking to Anaedoonline.com, Mrs Bassey who owns a restaurant in the market lamented over the poor state of roads in the market. She said ” Despite the outrageous amount of taxes we pay in the market, it is very unfortunate that our roads are like this.
Mrs Obiagwu who have sold plastics table and chairs in the market for over 8 years said: ” It seems the so-called Working Governor of Anambra State has decided to neglect the market. Look at our roads they are almost impassable”
Mr Emenike a trader, while blaming the government also blamed the market leaders, He said: ” If we had good market leaders, they could have used the dues we pay to repairs the roads, we can’t keep waiting for the government for everything.”
Also Speaking to Anaedoonline.com, Mr Dozie who is also trade in Motor Parts in the market while blaming the government also blamed truck drivers for reckless parking on the roads. He asked the government to create parks in the market to enable to truck drivers to have their own parking space.
Our efforts to speak to the market leaders proved abortive as some of the market leaders were not present at the time of filing this report.
