The African Association of Automotive Manufacturers (AAAM) recently visited the Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing plant in Nnewi, Nigeria. This visit aimed to promote collaboration and the exchange of ideas among stakeholders in the African automotive industry.
Led by Mr. Oluwamimo Joseph Osanipin, the Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), the group toured the state-of-the-art manufacturing site to observe the vehicle production process from design to assembly. They were impressed by the utilization of quality methodologies and technologies by Innoson Vehicles.
During the visit, Mr. David Coffey, the Director General of AAAM, who led the delegation from South Africa, commended Innoson Vehicles for their support of local manufacturing and growth in the African automotive industry. He emphasized the need for African automobile manufacturers to work together to enhance competitiveness and innovation in their respective productions.

In response, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma CON, the Chairman of Innoson Vehicles, expressed his willingness to collaborate with manufacturers in neighboring countries to strengthen the African automobile industry and increase the continental auto market share. He also reiterated the company’s commitment to developing affordable, no-frills cars suitable for African driving conditions.
The visit concluded with an interactive dining session, during which representatives from various automobile associations discussed potential areas of collaboration, technology transfer, and capacity-building programs.

Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing has recently supplied numerous Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) coaster buses to the Nigerian government, solidifying its position as the leading CNG vehicle manufacturer in Nigeria.
