A guy only known as Yunusa was slain by an enraged crowd in Bauchi after he was allegedly heard making blasphemous remarks against Prophet Muhammad.
According to reports, the incident happened on Wednesday at around three o’clock in the afternoon in the Nasaru hamlet, which is part of the state’s Ningi Local Government Area.
An disagreement broke out between Yunusa and another person, during which Yunusa allegedly uttered the blasphemous words. This swiftly turned into a mob action, according to eyewitness Umar Abubakar.

“The victim was a member of the Faira Islamic Sect. When he insulted the Prophet, some young men challenged him to retract his statement. He refused and repeated it, which led to the beating,” Abubakar recounted to Newsmen on phone.
Due to the stressful circumstances, another eyewitness, who desired to remain nameless, stated that Yunusa was first saved by the Police and taken to their outpost in the hamlet.
But the crowd killed him after overpowering the police.
Sent text messages to SP Ahmed Muhammad, the spokesman for the Bauchi State Police Command, but he did not respond, thus attempts to gain his response were unsuccessful.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Yunusa’s death is reminiscent of an occurrence that happened in Sade village, Darazo Local Government Area, Bauchi State, in May 2021.

Talle Mai Ruwa, a water vendor, was set on fire by the enraged teenagers for supposedly blaspheming Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Mai Ruwa was taken into custody at a nearby police station prior to the crowd taking him from his cell and killed him.
Another incident happened in May 2022. Rhoda Jatau, a Christian woman and 40-year-old mother of four who works as a health worker for the Warji Local Government Area, was accused of posting a video on her office’s WhatsApp platform that was deemed disrespectful to Islam, which infuriated the Muslim community. As a result, she barely avoided being lynched in Katanga, the Warji LGA headquarters.
