During the June 12 Democracy Day celebration in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu experienced a brief slip while boarding a parade vehicle. Dada Olusegun, the Special Adviser to the President on Social Media, reassured the public, minimizing concerns about the incident.
In a post on his X handle on Wednesday, Olusegun explained, “Mr. President missed his step while climbing into the truck at the June 12 Democracy Day celebration and tripped. It was a mild misstep. He immediately went on with the ceremonial rounds. No issues.”
This statement was made in response to videos circulating online that showed President Tinubu momentarily losing his footing as he stepped into the vehicle. According to report Online, despite the slip, the President quickly regained his balance and continued with the proceedings seamlessly.
The ceremony, held at Eagles Square, was the centerpiece of nationwide festivities commemorating Nigeria’s annual Democracy Day. The incident did not disrupt the event, and President Tinubu carried on with his duties for the day.
