In a heartwarming display of generosity, Sir Louis Carter Onwugbenu marked his 71st birthday by organizing a series of philanthropic events, including a large-scale medical outreach, aimed at giving back to his community amid Nigeria’s challenging economic crisis.
The celebrations kicked off with a mass at St Louis Catholic Church, Uruagu Nnewi and a medical outreach program that provided free healthcare services to over 700 people in Nnewi, Anambra State, where Sir Onwugbenu hails from. The outreach, which included consultations, diagnostic tests, and the distribution of medications, was carried out by a team of volunteer doctors and nurses who majority are graduates of his foundation (Louis Carter Foundation). Beneficiaries ranged from children to the elderly, many of whom expressed their gratitude for the much-needed services during these tough economic times.

In addition to the medical outreach, Sir Onwugbenu also organized food, material aid distributions and cash donations to orphans, and other vulnerable groups within the community. This initiative, according to him, was driven by a deep sense of responsibility to help alleviate the burdens faced by those most affected by the ongoing economic downturn.

His words; “May God bless Okpataozuora for this thoughtful medical outreach, i was attended to by professional doctors and was diagnosed, which i was given drugs for my diagnosis. This is something i know will be very costly if i had gone to the hospital. My wish for him on this his 71st birthday is may God continue blessing him with sound health, so he can continue blessing the less priviledged and the downtroding.”
