Iyorchia Ayu, the beleaguered National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has stood up from his position.
Mr. Ayu’s action came just days after a federal judge ordered his temporary removal from office pending the resolution of a series of political crises plaguing the main opposition party.

Mr Ayu pushed fought for months to remain in office against ardent opposition from Nyesom Wike and other southern governors on the party’s line.
Iliya Umar Damagum has assumed office as the acting national chairman of the main opposition party.
