On 7 October 2021 , the club was bought for £300 million by a Saudi consortium led by the Saudi Arabian government’s sovereign wealth fund. This purchase shot Newcastle United to becoming the richest Club in the Premier League.
Despite the financial ranking of the Club, the Liverpool Manager maintains that there is more to building a strong team than just having enough money at your disposal. His words were, “Newcastle fans will love it, but money doesn’t buy success. They have money to make mistakes, but they will be where they want eventually.”
