Workers at the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) went on strike on Monday morning, grounding international flights at Lagos’ Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the warning strike is over salary increases, and the workers have sworn not to return to work until the issue is handled.
Several travellers were stranded at the international airport in a video viewed by our correspondents, roaming around helplessly with their luggage.

NAHCO provides check-in, boarding, and ramp services for a number of foreign airlines, including Air France/KLM, Qatar, Ethiopian Airlines, Delta Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and Turkish Airlines.
An impacted traveller, Alex Nuba, told Newsmen that NAHCO workers stormed out of the international airport in the early hours of Monday, declaring that they were on strike and would not handle any passengers.
“Even the Qatar flight I’m traveling with this morning landed and has returned to Doha as there’s no one to handle them,” he said.
Passengers are unhappy, he says, because they were held outside to avert a disaster and no information, announcements, or emails were delivered to them.
