Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, famously known as Evans, the convicted billionaire kidnapper, along with his co-defendant Joseph Emeka, has chosen to pursue a plea bargain in their ongoing legal battle involving charges of murder and attempted kidnapping.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that during the case’s re-arraignment on Thursday, state lead counsel Mr. Yusuf Sule informed the court of the defendants’ decision to seek a plea bargain. The case was presented before Justice Adenike Cokers at the Ikeja High Court.

Evans and Emeka were set for re-arraignment on an amended five-count charge, which includes murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit felony, specifically kidnapping, and attempted murder.
Sule acknowledged the case was scheduled for re-arraignment but noted that the defendants had applied for a plea bargain. The prosecutor mentioned that the plea bargain terms are currently under review by the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN).
