A General Overseer of the Victory Revival Fasting & Prayer Ministry, Bishop Elijah Orhonigbe, has been arrested by the Nigerian Police after he allegedly raped a nineteen-year-old girl (names withheld).
The popular cleric’s arrest was effected last week Friday, by Detectives from the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, Area Command in Warri, Delta State.
His arrest was confirmed in a chat with the Warri Area Commander of the Nigeria Police, ACP Mohammed Muktar Garba. He said the mother of the victim had complained at his office.

ACP Garba noted that the mother of the victim is a member of the church where her daughter was allegedly raped by the said Bishop.
According to him, she had explained that the pastor said he had a dream that death was hovering in their house and asked her to bring her daughter for deliverance, if she wanted peace to reign, which she did.
He said the pastor then drugged the lady and raped her. The ACP said he personally took the lady to the hospital because she was in a coma for two(2) days.
He further noted that at the time they started to search for him, the pastor had absconded for three weeks but he was later found where he was hiding and arrested.
“This is somebody that I arrested since Friday. He has been in cell since Friday, Saturday, Sunday and today-Monday. I am charging him to court.”

“We have the pictures. We have examined the victim. I took her to the doctor. He has examined her private parts, and we have everything to charge this man to court.”
Mr Garba denied all allegations that he collected money from the suspect in a bid to release him or cover up the matter.
In his words,”I did not demand a dime from him and I will not collect a dime from him. He must face the wrath of the law.
