The federal government of Nigeria has been urged to eliminate all military checkpoints in the Southeast and Biafra territories by the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile.
This was said on Wednesday at a talk on X by BRGIE Prime Minister Simon Ekpa.
He claimed that because of its militarization of the area, the Nigerian government is to blame for the problem in the Southeast.
Biafrans want to see enduring peace in their area, Ekpa underlined, and he called on the Nigerian government to demilitarise the Southeast.

“We are against the Nigerian state for militarising Biafra. Those claiming we are violent should blame the Nigerian state.
‘They brought violence while we defend ourselves. We demand to withdraw the military and dismantle all checkpoints in Biafra territory”, he said.
Nigerian security authorities began a manhunt on May 30 for the anonymous gunman who had shot and murdered five soldiers in Aba.
Abia State Governor Alex Otti responded to the killings by announcing a N25 million reward for information that leads to the apprehending of the offenders.
Still, no one has been found to be accountable for the murders.
