Bola Tinubu has received advice from former president Goodluck Jonathan to promote a democracy in which every person has the freedom to express himself without fear.
At a one-day symposium held at the Banquet Hall of the State House Abuja on Tuesday to commemorate 25 years of uninterrupted democracy in Nigeria, he made the call.
In his words, “Together, let us build a Nigeria where every citizen has a voice, where opportunities abound, where the promise of a better tomorrow is not just a dream.

“We must not hand over to our children a democracy built on politics of region or religion”, he said.
He went on to say that Tinubu must make sure that Nigeria’s next 25 years of democracy get off to a positive start.
“One key thing also is that, for the next twenty-five years, you will need to build a democracy that will reduce friction.
“A situation where children of political officeholders are seen spraying dollars at parties, is not the democracy Nigerians want to witness.
“The dividends of democracy should be felt by all Nigerians, regardless of economic status or social class”, he added.
