The decision of Usman Ododo, the next governor of Kogi State, to kneel and give Governor Yahaya Bello his Certificate of Return was met with reactions.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Ododo’s actions while collecting his certificate of return alongside running mate Joel Salifu startled a lot of Nigerians.

Gabriel Longpet, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), delivered the certificate of return on Friday at the INEC offices in Lokoja, the state capital.

In response, Daddy Freeze made a contentious message on the internet expressing his opinions about Christianity in Nigeria and that he couldn’t serve a god who could change Colorado’s weather but couldn’t stop the rigging of the Nigerian election.

He also exhorted Nigerians to rewrite the history of what their parents understood to be “god.”

“I can never serve a god that stops the snow but can’t resurrect his servants like Osinachi or young people like Mohbad. A god who watches his tithe paying children in hunger and penury yet can’t stop the free-falling Naira, despite his son’s declaration in 2016. A god whose angels were watching over polling booths, yet rigging went unabated. I think it has NOW come upon us to change the narrative of what our parents consider to be ‘god’.”

Olanrewaju Kolawole, 44, has made a plea to Nigerians for assistance after discovering through DNA testing that he is not the real father of any of his four children.

Kolawole, an Ikire native living in Osun State’s Irewole Local Government Area, made the plea on Friday while participating in a radio show hosted by Oriyomi Hamzat and titled Kokoro Alate on Agidigbo 88.7 FM in Ibadan.

The couple’s appearance on the radio programme on Friday exposed the paternity fraud case, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

Speaking at the time, Kolawole mentioned that the first child’s DNA test had shown that the child was not his.

He continued by saying that the three additional kids he tested later on all came out negative.

He said, “I want Nigerians to come to my rescue because I must not suffer this in vain. I married Toyin in 2007 and gave birth to four children. She gave birth to four children, but none of them belongs to me after findings from a DNA test.”

Even though she reacted, Mrs. Tella Toyin didn’t agree with the outcome.

She claimed that she was not present when the sample was taken and that she was unaware of which samples had been taken.

“I don’t accept the result. I don’t accept it because I was not there when they took samples, and I don’t know which sample they took, so I don’t accept it. I can’t accept it because I know how I conceived those children.”

The Ghana High Commission in Pretoria reacting to the incident wrote, “The attention of the High Commission of the Republic of Ghana has been drawn to an incident in which members of the congregation of the Johannesburg branch of the Ghanaian Church of Pentecost were robbed of their valuables at gunpoint and a Deacon of the church kidnapped during church service.

“The Mission is presently working with the Church in cooperation with the South Africa Police Service (SAPS) to ensure the speedy and safe release and return of the victim to his family.

On Wednesday, angry mobs in Onitsha, Anambra State’s Main Market burned two suspected criminals on fire for reportedly intimidating Sokoto Road residents.

The state police spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the occurrence to reporters. He said that CP Aderemi Adeoye, the Commissioner of Police, disapproved of the behaviour and repeated his request that the public always bring criminals to the closest police station so that appropriate action may be taken.

In Delta State, a secondary school teacher was allegedly flogged to death by the parent of one of his students.

The Nigeria Police Force’s State Command announced on Thursday that it has detained one Nnajiofor Nweke in connection with the killing of a teacher at Alihame Mixed Secondary School in Agbor.

According to reports, the suspect stormed the school grounds and began yelling at instructors for disciplining his son for supposed stealing. According to the police complaint, the suspect’s kid was penalised by the teachers, along with other students, for allegedly stealing two kegs of palm wine from a shop.

Angry with the instructors’ actions, the suspect allegedly attacked the school with a cane and flogged the teachers on duty before one of them slumped and died.

DSP Bright Edafe, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, verified the occurrence in a statement via his official X Twitter on Thursday, attributing it to poor parenting.

The statement reads, “On 18th October 2023, the suspect Nnajiofor Nweke, a father of one student (name withheld) at Alihame Mixed Secondary School Agbor, on the said date, his son, alongside some other students, went to a palm wine shop and allegedly stole two kegs of palm wine.

“The matter was reported to the school authorities, and the students were flogged. The suspect came to the school in protest with a cane and started flogging teachers in the school. One of the teachers slumped and died.

At least nine persons are said to have been fatally stabbed in Adamawa State by one Ali Denham, who is said to be mentally unstable.

According to information acquired by Anaedoonline.ng on Friday morning, there was a disturbance in Kate-Gamji village in the state’s Sheleng Local Government Area on Wednesday when Denham began his killing rampage for reasons that the locals were unaware of.

Residents were not pleased with the occurrence since it was said that some irate youngsters in the village surrounded Denham, disarmed him, and then battered him to death.

“Ali Denham, a mentally ill man, killed nine villagers and was also killed by the angry youth of the community. This happened on Wednesday at Sheleng community,” Sahara Reporters quoted an anonymous source saying.

Another source who confirmed the incident to journalists added, “He was holding a knife, and everyone that came his way, including an aged woman and man, were stabbed with the knife. He ensured the person he stabbed was dead before moving to someone else.”

It was learned that the deceased people’s remains were interred on Thursday night.

Additionally, it was discovered that the suspect’s family had left the area.

However, Anaedoonline.ng believes that the state police command has not yet released an official comment on the incident.
