I’m Embarrassed For The Family Of Ojukwu By Comfort Obi
Any true Igbo son who held, and still hold Ikemba Nnewi, Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, of the blessed memory, in reverence, should be embarrassed by the turn of events in his nuclear family. They must be embarrassed by the gutter behaviour of a couple of the children he sired! And for women, especially Igbo women, they should rise in anger against these Ojukwu children, specifically, Dr. Ike Ojukwu and Emeka Ojukwu Jnr. Both men deserve no respect from any woman who has any self-esteem.
Ever since their father passed on, they have been dancing naked in the market square in a futile bid to humiliate his widow, and, indeed, their step mother, Iyom Bianca Ojukwu. The irony: They are fighting over an inheritance they contributed nothing to.
The Ojukwus are not the only members of a prominent family who try to publicly rubbish the names they bear in a fight over inheritances. It is like some of them cannot wait for their patriarchs and/or matriarchs to pass-on before they show who they are. We read their stories in the media, and shake our heads in disbelief.
Dim Odimegwu Ojukwu and Bianca
Yet, none has been more embarrassing than what is going on in the Ikemba Ojukwu family. If Bianca was made of a softer skin than she has, she would have crumbled under the weight of the hatred the Ojukwus habour for her.
Her greatest weapon is that she hardly needs them to bask in the sun. Before she married their father, her husband, she already was a solid woman – a Lawyer. A dead – drop beauty. A national, continental and international Beauty Queen. She is also from a solid family – a daughter of a well-respected, no-nonsense, Ngwo son, the late Christian Onoh. Onoh was a state governor, and he was stupendously rich. By virtue of being an internationally recognised Beauty Queen, Bianca was a millionaire before she married Ikemba. By virtue of being an Onoh daughter, Bianca was a millionaire before she married Ikemba. While married to the Ikemba, she also became Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, with her husband’s consent. So, from whichever angle one looks at it, at no time was Bianca a nobody – as a spinster, as a married woman and, as a widow. What is the problem then?
Until Ikemba’s passing, nobody knew that any of his children held his wife, Bianca, in contempt. If there was any such feeling, it was well covered-up. Perhaps, because of Ikemba’s status and his intimidating presence, none of his children dared rubbish his wife either publicly, or to his hearing. The open hostility started as soon as Ikemba passed-on. And since then, there has been no let – on.
Emeka Jnr, in particular, takes great pride in running his father’s widow down. It remains for him to publicly call Bianca a free woman. I think he has always doubted Bianca’s marriage to his father. But not only was his father’s “chasing” of Bianca public, the Court, the traditional and, the Church weddings were also public and well-celebrated. Ikemba never did his things in half-measures. Indeed, at the time, the doubt was: Will this wealthy Beauty Queen agree to marry the Ikemba? She was rich and famous. But theirs was a fairy tale love story. It was beyond beauty and fame.
Many women, including this writer, had for several months, watched in disbelief, as Emeka Jnr continuously painted Bianca in derogatory colours. But it came to a head recently when Bianca declared interest in running for the Senatorial election, under APGA, a party her husband was the leader until his passing, to represent Anambra South at the Senate.
That was all Bianca did. She cursed nobody. She never stopped anybody from aspiring to the same seat. On the contrary, she wanted to keep her husband’s name alive in APGA, something Emeka Jnr had since abandoned by freely defecting to the ruling party at the centre – the All progressives Congress, APC.
Just for emphasis, Bianca declared her senatorial ambition under APGA, not under the APC. Her declaration of interest to run for the Senatorial seat did not in anyway rubbish the Ojukwu name. Nor did it stop Emeka Jnr to also declare interest in running for the same seat under the APC if he has the liver and, yes, the clout. But his anger and that of Dr. Ike Ojukwu boiled over.
So, the Ojukwu brothers upped the ante of their contempt for Bianca. At a press conference addressed by Ike, with Emeka Jnr present, both men not only tried to disown Bianca, they tried to strip her of her dignity as a woman, a wife and, a mother.
Taking the first shot at her was Ike Ojukwu, a Director of Ojukwu Transport Company Ltd. For him, Bianca, a legal wife of Ikemba, has committed a cardinal sin by daring to declare her interest in the Anambra South Senatorial seat. His words: “It would be a let-down to allow a woman from Ngwo, Enugu state, to represent Anambra South Senatorial District. The district has several prominent people. Is she from Nnewi. She is from Ngwo in Enugu state. If you ask me, I would prefer someone who is a son of the soil, and because I come from Nnewi, I would like an Nnewi indigene to represent us.”
My brief response: This sounds like a sponsored press conference. By marrying an Nnewi man, prominent or not, Bianca is not only an Nnewi wife, she is an Nnewi daughter and, the mother of Nnewi children – in this case two sons and a daughter! Clear enough?
Then enters Emeka Ojukwu Jnr in a most disrespectful, insolent manner. Said he: “A young woman who was supposedly (emphasis, mine)) married to my father who is late, a young woman who could remarry tomorrow, may be from Abia state or Sokoto state. And you want her to come and represent us. I wonder if there are no other people in Anambra South that can represent us.”
My response: Did Bianca’s declaration stop others from doing so? In any case, isn’t Emeka a man? And is he not from Anambra South? Why doesn’t he take himself seriously and run for the seat? And imagine? He dismisses Bianca as supposedly married to his father. Supposedly? What guts? Bianca was properly married to Emeka Jnr’s father – court, tradition, church. And they have children together. Even if they didn’t have any, she was legally married to the Ikemba who was, till death, very proud of his stunningly beautiful wife. And Bianca, in turn, was, and is still proud of her husband. She was not only a loving wife while Ikemba was healthy, in ill-health, Bianca stuck to her husband, looked after him, and, in death mourned him the way Igbo women mourn their husbands. Whoever advised the Ojukwu brothers to address this press conference did them no good. They exposed them to public ridicule.
Emeka jnr. actually asked if anybody asked and/or consulted the Ojukwu family before Bianca’s declaration of interest in the Senate. Nobody needed to consult them. Only Bianca had the right to consult them. But they lost that privilege when they showed her, in no unmistakable terms, that she is not quite family.
At the press conference they spoke as if they were speaking on behalf of the Ojukwu family. Not true. Ikemba and Bianca’s children are bonafide Ojukwu children. Were they consulted before the ill-advised press conference?
Bianca, Ojukwu and their children.
The Ojukwu brothers have more serious issues to address than Bianca’s senatorial ambition. For instance, in case the Ojukwus have not heard, the unconfirmed allegation out there is that a couple of them were not quite the caring and loving family when the Ikemba was ill. This allegation will not be made against Bianca who stuck to her husband and gave him the needed care and love which he needed most. In death, unlike Emeka jnr, who rose to prominence (politically), becoming a Commissioner at one point, obviously, for being Ikemba’s son, Bianca is keeping the Ikemba political flame aglow. She did not abandon her husband’s party. Emeka Jnr has since abandoned Ikemba’s political legacy, APGA.
Yet, Bianca is being treated like an outcast. Since her husband’s passing, she has had no breathing space. Of course, the Ojukwu family is already famous thanks to their grandfather, Sir Louis Ojukwu and later, the Ikemba, but if Bianca goes to the Senate, she will only be adding to the fame, not subtract from it.
By referring to Bianca as an outsider in a family she rightly belongs to, the Ojukwus insulted not only her, but every woman and every widow. The Ojukwu wives should take their husbands up. The implication for them, really, is that their husbands think they are strangers in their matrimonial home, and may treat them as such some day. They should watch out.
As for Nigerian women and, Anambra women in particular, they should hold the Ojukwus to their words, and have it against them in case any of them dares to contest for any position in future, women should give them a red card. And they have an opportunity to teach them a lesson now.

Here is how.
Dr. Joseph Onoh, Bianca’s brother, in a statement he issued from London, in response to the diatribe against her sister, among other relevant points, taunted the Ojukwus thus: “See you at Bianca’s inauguration?” I wish. If she gets the APGA ticket, Anambra South women should call the bluff of the Ojukwus by voting massively for her.
Finally, I submit that the Ojukwus owe women an apology. I submit that they owe widows an apology. I, also, submit that they should get rid of their huge ego, purge themselves of bad belle, and apologise to Bianca. To publicly run her down means running down their father’s name, memory, the surname they bear, and everything the Ikemba stood for. For a man who gave them a name and prominence, the way they are treating his beloved widow is, to say the least, a shame.

Izu Anosike: The Alleged Murderer Still at Large
As a man in his early 30’s, he has had to struggle with the brutality of life. Having lost his parents at an early stage, which left him with his siblings (a boy and two girls) to cater for as the first Child, such responsibility made him assume several duties to ensure he took proper care of his siblings.
The above is the little that can be said of Izuchukwu Anosike, a native of Okpuno in Nnewichi, the alleged mastermind of the murder of the Late Tochukwu Izuckukwu, who lost his life during the Afia -Olu festival in a fight that broke out between two masquerade groups.
The House he and his brother lives in (a three-bedroom bungalow) is the one built for him and his siblings and handed over to them by an Anglican church in Nnewi, when he lost his father.
According to his tenant, apart from fending for himself through menial jobs, Mr Izuchukwu Anosike used to be (or still is) a very active member of vigilante service. He has never been involved in any fights in his street.
Those close to him told our reporters that his only sibling usually seen around him is his only brother while his sisters are hardly seen. However, neither Izu Anosike nor his brother who stays with him has been seen since the day of his alleged murder incident.
Our reporters who visited Izu Anosike’s compound encountered unfriendly neighbours who were very uncooperative and refused to speak to our reporters until we met his tenant who opened up. An elderly man who eventually agreed to speak to our reporters told them that Izuchukwu Anosike is not a good person.
When asked to clarify, he declined.
With the way of Mr Anosike uncertain and said to be at large at the moment, what is certain is that the family of the murdered still grieve and mourn their loss, while every day the suspect, Izu is somewhere probably regretting his actions and still caught up in the thought of what life will be like if finally caught.
We await what time unfolds.
Report of Student said to have committed suicide as a result of carry overs, false – Source
Against popular reports that the final year student of Godfrey Okoye University, Desmond Oteh who was recently reported to have committed suicide as a result of the carry overs he had in school, anaedoonline has revealed the probable cause of his death as psychological against the stories of academic references.
Oteh who just concluded his final year exams and project defence last month, was back in school due to some academic references. However, previous posts made by the deceased on social media suggested suicide tendencies due to psychological imbalance.
There has been a lot of rumour surrounding the demise of the young man but recently from a reliable source, we were informed that he had at one time attempted suicide in the past but failed, and when asked was quoted to have said “something told him to do so.”
Some person who were privy to discussions with the deceased, described Desmond as a talented comedian and actor, who brought smiles and laughter to all around him, endearing himself to his fellow students as he became a source of inspiration to a lot of people. Some of the students have maintained that Desmond had some psychological issues, even though he maintained a jovial and hilarious face appealing to the students.
The body has since been evacuated by the police.
The Culture of Beans and Roasted Plantain Lunch in Nnewi
Food is a very essential need of man and necessary in our everyday lives. This is one of the things all humans have in common. Recently there has been a drift to “intercontinental dishes” by a lot of people, while some have remained faithful to our local dishes.
Masquerades Partaking in Afia-Olu Festivals Should be accredited – Sam Ben Nwosu
The Public Complaints boss representing Anambra at the Public Complaints Commission, Hon. Prince Sam Ben Nwosu has called for proper planning and accreditation of Masquerades in future Afia-Olu festivals to forestall incidents of death that have occasioned the festival in the last two years.
Reacting to the incident of the death of a middle aged man who died last week in the just concluded Afia-Olu Nnewi festival. Prince Nwosu said it was wrong for ndi Nnewi to cry when they were supposed to be celebrating, he furthermore called on Nzuko-Ora Nnewi to look into the matter, to find lasting solutions.
Prince Sam Ben, maintained that it has become obvious that what is needed is for Nzuko-Ora to properly accredit masquerades who must participate in the festival. He said that in the past there used to be a method of checking the excesses of the masquerades through numbering and therefore called on Nzuko-Ora to revisit those measures.
He however stated that Nzuko-Ora Nnewi should not be blamed, as it is still seen as an accident, but called on them to proffer proactive measures to forestall future re occurrence.
However, the Ombudsman commended the police for their proactive measures that guaranteed peace throughout the festival apart from the incident. He therefore called on the police to double their efforts to ensure that the culprits of the recent murder during the festival are brought to justice, as justice delayed will amount to justice denied.
We Are Working towards Digitizing the Nnewi Economy -C FRANK
Anaedoonline.com had an interesting interview with Frank Udogu also known as C Frank, the C.E.O of C Frank Shipping Company; a company that majors on shipping goods from China to Lagos and Nnewi. He let us into his activities as the president of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi in China and their activities. In this interview, with Onyinye Okeke and Ebube Brown, Mr. Frank Udogu talks on business, politics and the future of Nnewi’s business and economy.
How do we get to know more about you and what you do about you?
My name is Okechukwu Frank Udogu. I order goods and ship them from China to anywhere in Nigeria. I am also the President of Nzuko-ora of Nnewi indigenes living in China.
What are the activities of Nzuko-Ora in China?
Our activities in china by God’s grace are waxing strong. We have our meetings two times a month, we also had our iri ji ofuu (New yam) festival recently in China. Our members are doing fine and the days when we used to have immigration problems are over. However, we are trying to encourage our new members coming into China to get their papers and also to extend the papers when it is due for renewal. But I can tell you that about 80% of all Nnewi indigenes have their papers intact.
What projects are said to be the Projects embarked upon by Nzuko Ora China in Nnewi?
Last year, the Anambra state Union in China acquired 400 plots of land in Awka, Anambra state. Not all members of Nzuko-Ora are part of the Anambra state union in China and they were not part of the land project, but through my influence as Land Project Chairman, I made 100 plots available for Nzuko-Ora members in China to purchase. Also, for many years Nzuko-ora in China was not recognized in Nnewi but I and my executives worked to ensure that we are recognized now in Nnewi. Also, every year in December we visit the motherless babies home here in Nnewi, to support the work that is being done.
How cordial is the relationship between Nzuko Ora China, and the Nzuko ora Nnewi?
Nzuko-Ora in China is not autonomous; we are answerable to Nzuko Ora Nnewi. Therefore, the need for building a strong cordial relationship cannot be overlooked.
How long has Nzuko Ora China being in existence?
Nzuko-Ora China has been existence since 2004. However, the association has had its share of ups and downs especially during the last administration, where there were moments of inconsistent meetings. The last administration didn’t live up to their responsibilities and till now they are still withholding the association’s money in their coffers. The elders who were leading us had many issues but the new administration is made up of younger people and we are waxing strong.
What Programs do you organize in China as a group?
We organize workshops and seminars to educate our people on how to be good citizens in China and also how to invest their wealth at home here in Nnewi. Most of our members, about 50% of them have investments and properties in Nnewi. We believe that our wealth should be invested at home.
How have your activities in China helped to promote and impact businesses in Nnewi?
The issue of promoting business is a personal decision of our members. Personally, I am into shipping goods and I used to ship to only Lagos but I am looking to include Nnewi this year. But as a group, we don’t have such plans. Although we are planning some activities that we will be doing in schools in Nnewi this year, we will not be sharing the details now until they are finalized. We are also planning to recognize prominent Nnewi indigenes that have supported the community through their businesses and activities, we hope to do all these this December.
Tell us your plan on inviting the Igwe K.O.N Orizu to China?
Actually, the plan is for him to come over this year but we are having challenges with the invitation letter. We have contacted the immigration office but their requirement is too demanding, however, we are trying to go through the Chamber of Commerce. We will love him to come this October, we will finalize the plans here in Nigeria before travelling back.
Are there challenges for Ndi-Nnewi living in china in terms of Taxation; How are Nnewi people in china fairing in the business environment?
In China, we are not facing the challenges of tax, though the nature of the Visa you use will determine if you will be hugely taxed or not, however, in general, there are no tax issues. The issue we face generally is bad business in Nigeria, our clients in Nigeria do not order as often as they used to. Also, we face credit issues, our clients in Nigeria prefer to buy from the Chinese than from Nigerians in China and the Chinese company can give you credit waiver which Nigerians doing business in china will not give to you.
There is the rumour that the Nnewi economy will collapse due to the Okada ban, as a Businessman and as a leader of Nzuko-Ora community in China, what is your take on that?
Well, we have had this discussion in our executive meetings, and we talked about getting a land here in Nnewi to establish phone accessory stores so that when the machine parts business depreciates, the phone accessory stores will be growing because the world is going digital. When we have something like this, some machine parts importers can switch to it. These are some of the ideas we want to share with the prominent men this December. If we can do something similar to what was done at the trade fair market in Lagos, it will help the economy.
Is there any partnership between Ndi Nnewi in China and the Nnewi Chamber of Commerce?
No we don’t partner with them. They invited me personally to come to their office, I will make an enquiry on their requirements to see if I can register with them. I believe it can be an added advantage to our business.
Is there any platform through which Ndi-Nnewi or anyone who wants to order products from you can do so?
Presently, no medium except direct contact. Some people who know me as the chairman of Nzuko-Ora usually contact me, then I link them up to the people who can deliver the products for them.
Are there challenges facing as Nzuko-Ora chairman in China?
Yes, there are challenges especially from the elders and former executives who withheld money from Nzuko-Ora’s coffers. I tried to settle the issue amicably by inviting them for our programs but they refused to come. We will overcome and continue to progress.
You were a co-sponsor of the 2018 Nwafor Orizu Unity Cup, what was the motive behind it?
It is important that young people support the activities in Nnewi. I saw the trophy and gifts rendered last year, it was too poor so I decided to do something about it this year.Doing these things are little ways of keeping the memories of our hero, a former Acting President and Senate president of Nigeria, Dr A.A. Nwafor Orizu alive. He was a great man. However, some people say it was for political benefit, but I am not moved by their hearsays. (Laughs)
Are you aspiring for any political position?
No. I am not interested in politics.
What is your advice for the younger ones in Nnewi?
My advice is whatever you are doing, do it well, one day God will see you through. For the lazy ones they should find something doing because Nnewi indigenes are not known to be lazy, for we always succeed in what we do.
IPOB REACTS TO THE FORTHCOMING OPERATION PYTHON DANCE III
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has reacted to the Operation Python Dance III that is to commence in theSoutheast soon.
Speaking through its spokesman, Emma Powerful accused the governors of the Southeast, Ohaneze Ndi Igbo – an apex Igbo Socio-political group, of conniving with the federal government and the Nigerian military of continuing the Islamic massacre of innocent Biafrans.
IPOB Press Statement:
August 19, 2018
Impending Operation Python Dance III: Another License to Murder Biafrans
Following a recent statement by the Fulani Islamic dominated Nigerian Army led by Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai regarding the impending commencement of another murderous season of Operation Python Dance across Biafraland, we the family members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and it’s leadership worldwide wish to alert the public that Nnia Nwodo led Ohanaeze Ndigbo/South East governors sponsored Islamic massacre of innocent Biafrans is once again in the pipeline. Let no one be deceived as to the real motives of the so-called Igbo leaders and Abuja based politicians, behind this latest round of impending slaughter of Biafrans.
The bitter truth is that South-East governors, Lagos-Abuja based Igbo politicians who are dependent on the political patronage of their Fulani godfathers, with the active connivance of Ohaneze Ndigbo, are the people behind every Operation Python Dance that ever took place. These Igbo politicians see the periodic military massacre of their own people as a necessary sacrifice that must be made to ease their Fulani masters and ensure their political survival, electoral victory and relevance because they know in Nigeria true power belongs to the Fulani caliphate.
To Nnia Nwodo’s Ohaneze Ndigbo and South East governors, especially Dave Umahi, Okezie Ikpeazu and Willie Obiano, the best way an Igbo politician can demonstrate his one Nigeria credentials is to actively participate or facilitate the wholesale slaughter of his own people. Should Buratai’s Islamic soldiers march on the streets of Biafraland anytime in 2018 and beyond, Biafrans must hold Gov. Dave Umahi, Okezie Ikpeazu, Willie Obiano and Nnia Nwodo led Ohaneze Ndigbo responsible.
More unarmed, peaceful IPOB family members has been killed in the past year than all Boko Haram terrorists and genocidal Fulani herdsmen put together. When Fulani herdsmen attacked and killed unarmed villagers in Nimbo Enugu State, no Igbo governor or Ohaneze Ndigbo asked for Operation Python Dance to defend the people. In fact they became dumb. It is common knowledge that Aso Rock refused to take the calls of Gov. Ugwuanyi. Commander of 82 Division Enugu and various leaders of state security agencies that litter couldn’t be reached until the Fulani killers left.
When it comes to the killing of peaceful IPOB family members, phone calls from Igbo governors and Nnia Nwodo are promptly answered and soldiers deployed immediately. Isn’t it ironic that Igbo governors, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Fulani officers and soldiers that make up the bulk of the Nigerian Army, have chosen to ignore the murderous tendencies of Islamic extremism perpetrated by their own kith and kin in Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen but have instead turned their rage and guns on unarmed IPOB fighting for their God given right to self determination?
To make matters worse, the newly announced Operation Python Dance for the ember months of 2018 is coming on the heels of the discovery of yet more dead bodies of victims of Operation Python Dance from last year, in mass graves in Ukwa Ngwa Abia State in the past week. Ohaneze Ndigbo and Igbo governors will not even allow IPOB to finish burying those their Fulani masters killed last year before inviting them to come and kill us again. They have no regard for even the dead.
The criminal and conspiratorial silence of Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, Igbo governors and Ohaneze Ndigbo in the face of the discovery of mass graves in Abia State is damning proof that these men we regard as political and traditional leaders in Igboland especially are nothing more than lilly-livered traitors, quislings and cowards, only interest in serving the will of their Fulani masters.
The number of IPOB family members killed extra judicially as a result of Operation Python Dance and associated military operations in the South East/South South by northern Islamic dominated Nigerian Army, run into hundreds, with many still missing and unaccounted for till date. Igbo governors and Ohaneze Ndigbo is silent on these atrocities because they are part of it as confirmed by IPOB intelligence that intercepted Gov. Wille Obiano’s conversation with a top northern military commander in Onitsha Barracks.
Therefore, we wish to alert the public that the same Igbo men involved in the planning and execution of Operation Python Dance across Biafraland last year are at it again this year. South East governors and Ohaneze Ndigbo should be held responsible should Buratai decide to march his Fulani Islamic soldiers into our land on another killing expedition designed to reduce the population of the South East.
We wish to place it on record that Ohaneze Ndigbo led by Nnia Nwodo, current crop of South East governors and Igbo political contractors in Abuja and Lagos, will never be forgiven for their crimes and atrocities against our people. For the sake of electoral victory, money, contracts and political appointments, they have helped in the further enslavement of a long suffering people. They are fighting against IPOB because they don’t want the people to be set free.
Biafraland has become a colonial outpost of the Fulani caliphate thanks to these men. Those of them that planned Operation Python Dance last year and seeking to do same this year because of their hatred for Biafra; the Lagos/Abuja errand boys that sold their soul to the Devil in return for political office, must know that judgment is fast approaching. They and their families will be held accountable at the appointed time. There will be no mercy. Let them not say they were not warned.
COMRADE EMMA POWERFUL MEDIA AND PUBLICITY SECRETARY FOR IPOB.
