The verdict in the murder trial of Timothy Adegoke, a former master’s student at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, was handed out by Justice Oyebola Ojo, Chief Judge of the Osun State High Court.
According to news sources, the Judge declared Dr. Ramon Adedoyin, a well-known hotelier, responsible for Adegoke’s murder, which took place between November 5 and November 7 of 2021 at the Hilton Honours Hotel in Ile-Ife.
In passing judgment, Justice Ojo stated that the circumstantial evidence in the case indicated that Adegoke was killed while a guest at Adedoyin’s hotel.

She claimed that since the weight of proof had been placed on him by the circumstantial evidence, Adedoyin’s decision to stay out of the witness box had not helped him.
She also dismissed the alibi offered on behalf of Adedoyin by his attorney, who claimed that the hotel owner was in Abuja for several days around the time the late Adegoke died, saying that Adedoyin’s decision not to enter the witness box meant he agreed to the murder charge brought against him by the prosecution.
Along with two other defendants who had also been found guilty of murder and murder conspiracy, she condemned the hotel’s owner to death by hanging.
Adegoke, a student of business administration (MBA), traveled to Ile-Ife from Abuja to take his exam. He stayed in the hotel, intending to remain there during the exam time. nonetheless, on November 7, 2021, the police reported him missing.

Recall that the owner of the hotel, Dr. Adedoyin, alongside six of his staff, namely, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwole Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem Adebayo Kunle, and Adedeji Adesola were standing trial on 18 counts of conspiracy, murder, felony, indecent interference of the corpse, alteration, and cancellation of receipt and oath-taking to prevent justice.
