Car owners are being cautioned strongly not to hide up your licence plate—it is against the law in Lagos State. This warning comes from SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO).
This was revealed by Hundeyin in a post on his X account on Saturday. He stressed that doing so is against the National Road Traffic Regulations and carries serious consequences.
The claim made by Hundeyin that persons found guilty of hiding their licence plates may face legal penalties.

“It is prohibited the National Road Traffic Regulations to cover number plates. Penalties for convictions vary from penalties to jail time,” he stated.
It is requested of drivers to abide by the law and not cover their licence plates.
Car owners were reassured by the police that following traffic laws not only helps them avoid fines but also makes driving safer and more orderly for everyone on the road.
