The president of the Dangote Refinery, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has been advised to “stop giving deadlines nobody asked for” in relation to the refinery, according to renowned investigative journalist David Hundeyin.
Hundeyin’s remarks come after Aliko Dangote announced that the refinery will begin selling petrol in August 2024 after resolving its problems with the supply of crude oil with the assistance of the federal government and the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
PENGASSAN Reacts As Dangote Refinery Misses Production Deadline
Additionally, the date of production for premium motor spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, was shifted from June to the middle of July by Africa’s largest oil refinery. Dangote stated that the reason for the date change was a minor delay that resulted in the original proposal of June to mid-July.
Reacting to this, Hundeyin took to his X Handle on Sunday and wrote, “Can they (Dangote Group) please stop giving themselves these arbitrary deadlines that nobody asked for?
“Is this a refinery or a reality TV show? Shut up until you’re up and running. No need for all these theatrics.”
“FYI, we actually want this refinery to work,” he added.
