Gombe State Governor Swears in Five New Permanent Secretaries, Reiterates Zero-Tolerance for Corruption

Governor Yahaya charged the appointees to uphold integrity and align their service with the administration’s principles. “Our government has zero tolerance for corruption, indiscipline, incompetence, and wastefulness. Your roles are pivotal in driving the effective implementation of government policies and ensuring efficient governance,” he said.
Highlighting the state’s strides in civil service reforms, the governor noted key achievements, including:
- Establishing the Bureau of Public Service Reforms.
- Clearing over ₦17 billion in gratuity backlogs.
- Ensuring prompt pension payments.
- Implementing the new minimum wage at the state level.
Yahaya urged the new Permanent Secretaries to rise to the challenge and maintain the momentum of excellence. “Your appointments are a recognition of your dedication, loyalty, and commitment to the progress of our state.
