This declaration was made on Wednesday at the major storm drains in Gombe city’s 2024 desilt exercise opening.
All Progressives Congress (APC) member Governor Yahaya underlined the value of community initiatives coming together to maintain a clean environment.
In order to properly manage waste, he encouraged the community to utilise the recently built rubbish collection centres.

Governor Yahaya emphasised the harm that careless garbage disposal in drains does to the ecosystem and mentioned how it also causes flooding.
In order to solve this, the state has started clearing important waterways in order to guarantee unobstructed water flow, avert floods, and safeguard infrastructure, property, and human life.
In keeping with his administration’s dedication to environmental preservation, Governor Yahaya declared intentions to build 21 more garbage collection facilities as part of the World Bank-led ACReSAL initiative.
To keep the environment cleaner and healthier, the State Environmental Protection Agency (GOSEPA) will supervise the daily garbage removal from these centres.
