The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed doubts about the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) chances of winning the upcoming governorship contests in the states of Edo and Ondo.
This was said by Umar Damagum, the acting national chairman of the party, on Thursday in Abuja during the launch of the PDP National Campaign Councils for the governorship elections in Edo and Ondo.
He said that the way the candidates performed in the two states showed that the party would win the elections.

PDP’s confidence in winning the elections in Edo and Ondo was expressed by Damagum, who also emphasised that the party will not let itself to be cheated out of victory in any of the states and that Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State had already set the groundwork for the success of the party in the state election.
“We will not sit down and allow anybody to search, grab, and steal. We will be battle-ready for any thief that rears his head to steal our fortune.
“We have done so well in Edo State. We thank the governor. We are very proud of him. Our records in that state speak volumes.
“So, to those that think they will take Edo, I want to tell them that it is going to be very difficult for them because we are in a democratic dispensation,” he said.

Ondo is already prepared for the PDP to win, according to Damagum, who also counselled the state’s citizens to view the upcoming election as a chance to make further changes that would benefit them.
