Describing the incident as a tragic and unavoidable disaster, Governor Idris acknowledged the grief felt nationwide over the heartbreaking event, which he believes was destined by God.
In a condolence message, signed by his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris Zuru, Governor Idris urged the residents of Jigawa to find comfort in the belief that “Allah gives and He takes.” He further emphasized that the government and people of Kebbi stand in solidarity with Jigawa and the entire nation during this time of mourning, as the country loses valuable citizens whose contributions are crucial to Nigeria’s development.
Governor Idris also called on both state and federal governments, particularly agencies responsible for public safety, to enhance awareness campaigns aimed at preventing uncoordinated rescue efforts during large-scale accidents like this one. He stressed the importance of caution and proper coordination in rescue operations to avoid further loss of lives.
