In accordance with the strike direction issued by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and its Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) closed all ports across the country on Monday.
A Union representative informed Newsmen that all other port formations, including those in Port Harcourt, Warri, Onne, Calabar, and elsewhere, had been closed indefinitely except from Lagos ports.

The official stated that they would stay closed until further notice from the national organised labour leadership.
News reports state that because the federal government was unable to enact its planned national minimum wage, organised labour shut down the country’s economy on Monday.
