On Friday, hearings for the Lagos State National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal began.
News organizations learned from Channels TV that the tribunal, which is housed in the Ikeja neighborhood’s Rosaline Omotoso Courthouse secretariat, convened to hear eight petitions related to the 2023 general elections, which were held on February 25 and March 11.
It was discovered that out of the 8 applications, 3 were for INEC material inspection, 3 were for substituted service, and 3 were for petitions to be withdrawn for being filed late.

However, the tribunal hearing the complaints over the state’s governorship elections did not convene when it was discovered that the Lagos State governor’s lawyers, Babajide Sanwo-Olu have not yet been served with the various petitions filed.

This online news outlet learned that the governor of Lagos State has already assembled his legal team, which consists of four Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) and a number of additional attorneys.
