According to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, appointees and government employees who are unable to contribute to the success of his administration and meeting Nigerians’ expectations are free to resign.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Tinubu made this statement on Wednesday at the start of a three-day retreat at the Presidential Villa in Abuja for ministers, presidential aides, permanent secretaries, and other high-ranking government officials with the theme “Delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
He reaffirmed his pledge to provide Nigerians with the benefits of democracy regardless of their political party affiliation, describing the nation as one large family with members living in separate rooms.

A memorandum of understanding between the participants and President Tinubu would be signed at the conclusion of the retreat, he stated. He insisted that he has given the participants full authority to carry out their obligations and urged them to ask questions about the best ways and times to do so.
He said, “If you’re are performing, nothing to fear. If you’re not performing, we review, and if you cannot perform, you leave us.
“I’m here to give direction to this family, making sure the relationship is stronger by giving hope to our people.”
He urged his ministers and other government employees to support him in his endeavours, emphasising that while he would err as a human being, he would fix faults as soon as they were brought to his attention.

Additionally, he said that rather than viewing the ministers as opportunistic individuals, they should be viewed as collaborators who may positively contribute to the development of the country.
He said, “You are here to help me succeed.”
Speaking further, Tinubu urged the attendees to remain focused like a driver in a tunnel to deliver the products, despite the turmoil surrounding them. He said he had embraced the assets and liabilities of his predecessors.
Assuring foreign investors that they will be able to bring in their capital, invest, and repatriate their gains without any problems, the president emphasised the importance of quality healthcare and education, noting that this was how his administration had spent the previous six months fighting poverty.
