In a significant development for governance in Nnewi North Local Government Area, the legislative council has successfully screened and appointed new executives to serve under the leadership of Mayor Echezona Anazodo. The announcement was made yesterday at the council chambers during a special session attended by dignitaries, stakeholders, and members of the public.
The newly appointed executives are expected to bring fresh perspectives and expertise to the administration as they work alongside Mayor Anazodo in implementing development projects and policies aimed at improving the welfare of the people. The screening process, which was thorough and transparent, emphasized qualifications, experience, and commitment to public service.
Mayor Anazodo, who assumed office early last month, expressed optimism about the appointments, stating, “This marks the beginning of a new era for Nnewi North. With the support of these capable individuals, we will accelerate the pace of development and deliver on our promises to the people.”
The legislative council’s Leader Rt.Hon.Chijioke NwIzugbe, lauded the process and congratulated the appointees, urging them to prioritize accountability and inclusivity.
The executives will oversee various departments, including Environment, education, infrastructure, and youth empowerment, as the administration strives to address the pressing needs of the local government area.
