Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has praised the Nigeria women’s national basketball team, D’Tigress, for their impressive showing at the Paris Olympics. Despite their loss to the USA, the most successful female national basketball team, Mbah commended D’Tigress for their courageous effort on the global stage.
In a social media post reacting to the team’s performance, Governor Mbah highlighted the final score, with the USA scoring 88 points to Nigeria’s 74. He emphasized that, despite the loss, D’Tigress bowed out with dignity and earned the admiration of basketball fans worldwide.
Mbah also noted that D’Tigress’s qualification for the quarter-finals marked an unprecedented achievement for any African basketball team, male or female, at the Olympics.
