Two years after arriving in Nigeria, Oppo is still a foreign name to some ears while some don’t know enough about the company. The Trading name “Oppo” is actually a shorter version for the subsidiary Chinese company, Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications Corp., Ltd., a consumer electronic and Mobile communication company registered in 2001 but didn’t launch until 2004.
Oppo’s products cut across audio devices, smart devices, Blu-ray players, power banks, smartphones, and other electronic products. It launched its first mobile phone “the smile phone” in 2008, and in Nigeria on the 29th of April 2019.
