The lawsuit filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Atiku Abubakar, its 2023 presidential candidate, contesting President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election held on February 25 has been postponed till Wednesday, May 31.

After receiving evidence from the petitioners’ attorneys, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), the tribunal on Tuesday admitted copies of result sheets, printouts of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), and a record of the number of Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) collected for the most recent presidential election across the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, presented the documents as part of the start of the hearing in the petition.

There were no witnesses cited by the petitioners.

However, lawyers objected to some of the documents and brought it up to the respondents.

After hearing from all parties involved, the committee headed by Justice Justice Haruna Tsammani postponed its meeting until Wednesday at 2 p.m.

In the lawsuit contesting President Bola Tinubu’s election victory on February 25, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, has called his first witness.
