The Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF) has appealed to Nigerians for patience, acknowledging the initial challenges faced by President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing reforms and economic policies. Despite the current difficulties, the governors, elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed confidence in the nation’s ability to overcome these obstacles.
Following a closed-door meeting on Wednesday night, PGF Chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, addressed journalists, urging Nigerian youths to refrain from participating in planned demonstrations and to allow the president time to address the country’s issues.
“We recognize the initial teething problems associated with the government’s policies but believe these reforms are the solution to our current economic hardships,” Uzodimma stated. “We are confident that the situation will improve soon, bringing prosperity to the nation.”
He emphasized the need for young Nigerians to avoid being provoked into causing unrest, noting that the country has already endured significant suffering due to the global economic recession, domestic insecurity, political tensions, and opposition-driven campaigns against government policies.
Uzodimma called for patriotism and urged citizens to take ownership of their country, stressing that Nigeria is their only home. He assured that the government is working diligently to improve the situation and asked for continued patience and support from the public.
