Renowned writer David Hundeyin has disclosed that Nigeria’s largest businessman, Aliko Dangote, has started a protest against the Bola Tinubu-led government.
This is a reaction to mounting political pressure and what is said to be unfair treatment of his commercial endeavours, especially the Dangote Refinery.
Hundeyin claims that Dangote is protesting by slowing down operations at his refinery, a calculated move meant to convey his displeasure with the government’s recent measures.

Touted as a landmark project for Nigeria’s energy industry, the Dangote Refinery has encountered many obstacles, including regulatory roadblocks and what is believed to be deliberate meddling by the Tinubu administration.
Many believe that Dangote is using this protest as an opportunity to use his enormous economic power to challenge the federal government. According to Hundeyin, the business tycoon is using his ownership of the refinery to draw attention to how the administration’s policies are negatively affecting his company’s operations and, consequently, the whole Nigerian economy.
There are worries over possible consequences for Nigeria’s industrial sector as a result of the impasse between Dangote and the Tinubu administration. Speculators fear that more conflict might erode investor confidence and cause important economic initiatives to stop, further taxing the already precarious economy.
