The reason behind President Muhammadu Buhari’s removal of Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni as the head of the APC Caretaker Committee has been disclosed.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Niger’s Governor Abubakar Sani Bello took over as interim chairman of the ruling party on Monday, replacing Yobe’s governor, who is on a medical vacation to Dubai.
The Niger governor presided over a meeting of the Caretaker/Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) at the party’s national office in Abuja shortly after his appointment.

According to the source, President Buhari removed Buni as the party’s temporary chairman when it was discovered that he was planning to disrupt the party’s national convention on March 26.
Buni and John Akpanudoedehe, the National Secretary of the APC Caretaker Committee, secured a court order to temporarily halt the much-anticipated event until a substantive suit is heard and decided, according to a source in the news medium.
According to the source, the President learned about Buni’s scheme to halt the national convention a week ago and ordered his instant dismissal before going on a medical trip to London.
He went on to say that the APC governors who backed Buni had sided with the President and backed his decision.
“When the president learned about the paper, he requested the Niger governor to replace Buni,” he claimed.
