During the bail hearing of suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari and six others at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday, there was some little drama.
A woman described as the wife of the former leader of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) fainted within the courtroom, causing chaos.
She sank to the ground immediately after trial Justice Emeka Nwite postponed decision on Kyari’s and six other people charged with drug trafficking alongside him seeking to be released on bail awaiting the outcome of the case.

While armed agents of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, were escorting Kyari and the others out from the court grounds, the lady, who was wearing a black Hijab, collapsed to the floor.
Despite the fact that she seemed motionless on the floor, she was promptly taken up and hustled into one of the court’s offices on the third floor by NDLEA personnel and attorneys.
As of 11.07 a.m., attempts were on to get an inhaler for her, as one of the women who accompanied her to court intimated that she was asthmatic.
