Charity Iroakazi, 28, was charged in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Thursday by the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Command, for allegedly possessing 36 berets with IPOB emblem on them.
The defendant, a woman artisan living at 14, Nurudeen St., Ojo, Lagos, is being prosecuted for conspiracy and illegal possession of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) berets.
According to the prosecution, Insp Samuel Mishozunnu, the crimes were conducted on June 16 at Mosalasi Bus Stop in Satellite, Lagos.

According to Mishozunnu, police on patrol stopped a motorcyclist who was carrying a large black nylon on his motorcycle.
He stated that the motorcyclist was wearing 36 black, green, and red berets with IPOB emblem written on them.
According to the prosecutor, the rider led the police to the sender’s address, which led to the defendant’s arrest, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
According to the prosecution, the offenses violated the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015.
The defendant, on the other hand, pleaded not guilty to the accusations.

Mrs Folasade Hughes, the Magistrate, gave the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in the same amount.
Hughes postponed the matter until August 2 for further consideration.
