At least 30 vehicles were burnt in a multiple accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway early Saturday morning, November 7, 2020.
According to reports, the inferno happened at about midnight when a tanker lost control, fell and exploded in the middle of the road.
The incident happened just after the Long Bridge where there is both a car park and car sales stand.

It was gathered that a petrol-laden truck crashed at about 1 am, with several other trucks and vehicles running into the resulting fire.
Among the vehicles burnt were two trucks owned by Dangote Industries Limited and used cars, popularly known as Tokunbo, which were in a car mart close to the scene of the accident.
According to The Eagle Online, the driver of the petrol-bearing truck and his truck boy were burnt to death in the accident.
A gridlock immediately began, with drivers said to have resorted to driving one way.

As at press time, trucks of the Federal Road Safety Corps had arrived at the accident scene.
However, there has been little progress as at press time, with traffic having built up well into Lagos State and from the Ogun State end of the expressway into Lagos.
