The meeting between Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and Senator Adamu Abdullahi, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been revealed.
Uzodinma met with Abdullahi behind closed doors at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday afternoon, according to Anaedoonline.ng.
The governor met with the APC chairman to discuss the emergence of the party’s presidential candidate and assure a winning unity list ahead of the 2023 general elections, according to a party source who spoke to The Nation.

He went on to say that the leaders met to settle the two opposing forces in Imo state, with the goal of winning all federal and state legislature seats in 2023.
The APC chieftain disclosed that the meeting was part of wide consultation with some critical leaders at the state level ahead of the party primaries.
He said: “The Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led NWC is poised to ensure victory at the polls next year and has embarked on wide consultations with some critical leaders at the state level.
“Today (yesterday) alone, two serving Senators, a sitting governor and a former minister were at various times in closed-door meetings to fine-tune and ensure a winning unity list ahead of the general elections.

“Though the party recognises the role of the governors, the leadership has decided to also reach out to some other leaders in some states that are critical to the party.”
