Chinye Matthew, a leader of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State, has advised Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to cease taking credit for Niger Delta Development Commission projects in Delta State’s Aniocha North Local Government Area.
Chinye, the party chairman for Aniocha North local government, said this when the Omo-Agege campaign train arrived.
He said that NDDC paid the projects that the governor claimed he provided for the good people of Aniocha North.
He said, “We want state that the projects governor Okowa said he provided for the people of Aniocha North were funded by NDDC.
“These road projects in Aniocha North remain very important, owing to the fact that many of the dwellers in rural areas are farmers who contribute to the food baskets of the state.
“Okowa should taking credits over projects that his administration never awarded, funded, and commissioned in Aniocha North.”

He regretted that the Onicha-Uku/Issele-Uku road was in a sorry state, as the two communities were cut off from each other over in accessible road.
Reacting to the claims, the member representing Aniocha North constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Emeka Nwobi, said apart from road networks, Okowa has funded numerous projects in the council for the well being of the citizens.
He stated that work was ongoing at the Onicha-Uku Issele-Uku road project, which Okowa awarded and mobilised contractors to site.
He advised the people of Aniocha North Local Government Council to ignore such claims by the APC chairman, saying that APC thrives on propaganda and falsehood.
