After candidates were chosen to fill openings on the National Working Committee (NWC) and in the zonal leadership of the party, a crisis may be developing inside the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The new officials include Garba Datti Muhammad (Kaduna State) who will take Salihu Moh Lukman’s place as national vice chairman for the North West (North West), and Ali Bukar Dalori (Borno State) who will replace him as deputy national chairman for the North (North East Zone).

Ajibola revealed that Abdul Karim Abubakar Kana (Nasarawa State) (North Central Zone) was chosen by the NWC to fill the job of national legal adviser in place of his departing predecessor.
Additionally, he declared Mary Alile Idele of Edo State to be the new national women’s leader (South-South) and Donatus Nwankpa of Abia State as the new national welfare secretary (South East Zone) to succeed the late Friday Nwosu.
Duro Meseko (Kogi State) was chosen by the ruling party to replace Yakubu Ajaka as the deputy national publicity secretary (North Central Zone), while Ikani Shuaibu Okolo (Kogi State) would serve as the zonal organising secretary (North Central).

APC Convention: Southwest Nominate Candidates For Vice Chairman, National Secretary Positions
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Beta Edu, who had earlier supported Dr. Stella Odey-Ekpo, among other party officials and chieftains, purportedly lost to Adams Oshiomhole’s candidature, according to the report.
Additionally, James Faleke defeated Governor Yahaya Bello for the position of deputy national publicity secretary.
According to the same allegations, the candidates Benjamin Kalu, the deputy speaker of the house of representatives, and Ikechi Emenike, the state chairman, both lost to Hope Uzodimma, the candidate for governor of Abia State.
The former women leader, Edu, reportedly rushed the national secretariat at around 6:20 p.m. to protest the removal of her candidate, who had already essentially assumed office, in response to the results.
