ANTI-PIRACY SOCIETY OF NIGERIA STORMS NNEWI TO CAMPAIGN AGAINST FAKE PRODUCTS (VIDEOS/PHOTOS)
In a bid to contain the activities of piracy, counterfeit and fake products in Anambra state, the Anti-Piracy society of Nigeria(APSON) has embarked on a three-day campaign in the state.
The APSON campaign train led by the Director General, Frank Uduonu stormed Nnewi today as part of its 3days sensitization program against piracy, fake and counterfeit products. According to Frank Uduonu, Nnewi is the hub of Africa when you talk about spare parts, manufacturing, so the Nnewi Community and Anambra as a whole cannot grow if we give room for piracy, for counterfeit and substandard goods’’.

The campaign started yesterday in Onitsha where APSON visited all the major market in the metropolis to sensitize the people, the train visited Nnewi today, 5th February 2019 and visited all the environs as well. The concluding phase of the Campaign will be held in Awka tomorrow 6th February 2019 before the train moves to another state. The anti-piracy team said their sensitization is in different phases, and the second phase will involve the customers which are to sensitize customers about how to identify fake products.

APSON said they have reached out to other institutions who are partnering with them including Ibeto group and also the Anambra state government to help combat the issue of piracy. The group said they will also be working with other agencies NAFDAC, SON, etc. to persecute perpetrators of fake and pirated products.
