Ifeanyi Ararume Jnr, the former Imo State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, has defected from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the son of Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, a senior member of the governing APC, revealed his membership in the opposition party today.
Ararume claimed he left the APC on his own will and wanted to join the PDP to give his quota.
The politician pledged to back the PDP and its leaders in the 2023 election while speaking with journalists shortly after a local government emergency meeting held at the PDP State Headquarters in Owerri, Imo state today.
He said, “Yesterday, I officially joined PDP in my ward and today I proceeded to the LGA.
“Today, I officially joined the PDP in my Ward. In everything I have done, I have tried my best never to be found wanting. I hope it remains so in this new journey.
“My joining PDP was my choice and I believe I’m coming to add value. By the grace of God, we will all work hard for the party to be victorious.”
Ararume also boasts that he will do his possible best to elevate the party in Isiala Mbano and the state at large.
Speaking on his Dad, Senator Ararume’s defection to PDP soon, he said he can only speak for himself.
“He is a very experienced politician but the treatment he got from the APC was most unfortunate,” he said.
When asked about the unfair treatment meted on his father by the leadership of the party, he said some of the positions that came especially the NNPC position would have impacted the state in terms of employment.
