Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, says he has quit using social media.

Tinubu admitted to have nearly high blood pressure everytime he utilized social media.

He remarked that he has received significant harassment from social media users, so he avoids it.

The APC presidential contender made the announcement in a video uploaded on Twitter by one of his supporters, Ademola Oshodi.

In the video, the former Lagos State governor stated that he becomes enraged when he reads things posted about him on social media.

“I don’t read social media anymore; they abuse the hell out of me. If I read it, I get high blood pressure and angry.

“I don’t read it, so if I want to hear anything; my children or my workers will say this one said this, and when I’m tired, I say please forget it,” Tinubu said.

Tinubu has been embroiled in numerous issues since his election as the APC presidential candidate.

He, on the other hand, denied all of the charges as untrue and unjustified.

Tinubu Reveals How Saraki Stopped Buhari From Picking Him As VP

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has accused former Senate President Bukola Saraki of sabotaging his bid to become President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate in 2015.

Tinubu said that Saraki worked against his vice presidential campaign because he wanted to become Senate President when he met with APC delegates in Ogun State.

He said that Saraki, a former governor of Kwara, began a smear campaign against him when he realized that people who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC would not receive anything.

Tinubu said, “Buhari wanted me to be his Vice President. He said because the first time he contested, he picked (Chuba) Okadigbo; flamboyant, catholic, but Nigerians didn’t vote for him (Buhari). The second time, he picked another Igbo, Edwin Ume-Ezeoke, Nigerians didn’t vote for him, that if he brought the Pope to run as his deputy, Nigerians would not vote for him, that ‘you, Bola Tinubu, you have six governors, you have never lost an election before, come and be my running mate.

“He knew all the calculations then favoured us. That was why he wanted me as his running mate, but I told him to let us build the party first. And when we finished building the party, we brought in people from the PDP. Saraki saw that those from the PDP would not get anything if Buhari, a Muslim becomes the President and me, also a Muslim becomes his deputy. He won’t become the Senate President and the Senate President could not also be a Muslim. That was how they started the campaign of calumny against me.

“And I told them that I had a candidate that is a Christan that I could nominate so that the party would not break. That was how I nominated Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. I surrendered my right to him (Osinbajo).”

The former Governor of Lagos State and Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has charged Nigerians to wait till January 2022 for the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu to declare his presidential interest or not.

Fashola stated this while speaking on Channels Tv on Friday night.

The APC National Leader has been spotted on posters and billboards in Lagos state and Abuja amidst rumours of his presidential ambition.

Though Tinubu has not declared his intention to take over power from President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023, there have been calls by groups in the country charging him to contest.

Recall that the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in October inaugurated the SouthWest Agenda 2023, a political movement mobilising support for Tinubu to contest the 2023 presidential election.

Some groups, however, have claimed that the Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, Fashola and some others in the region are wordy of contesting for the presidency.

Fashola when asked if he is interested in becoming the President said, “It is a very tough responsibility, a very tough job; I don’t envy those who have held that office and I don’t envy those who aspire to take it as well.”

The minister when asked if he is speaking for any aspirant come 2023 said, “As far as I am aware, nobody has said, ‘I want to be Nigeria’s President’. There are people speaking for people. Nobody has come out, we are not at that stage yet.

“I can’t venture out and say that I will speak for X or Y. Let the person come out and say, ‘I want to serve Nigeria’.

“It pains me sometimes when we see that very important job and responsibility to, ‘My people said’. I think the whole sense of it should be that, ‘I am able, I have looked at myself, give me your problem, you go to sleep’.”

Fashola when asked if he would support Tinubu in 2023 said, “I saw him (Tinubu) last week, he didn’t tell me he is running for office and to the best of my knowledge, the last statement he made on it is that people will know in January.”

The Minister added, “No, I didn’t ask him, I just went to ask how was doing. He has issued a statement that ‘I will speak in January, so let us wait till January.”
