The late Mohammed Yusuf, the founder of Boko Haram, has been compared to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB.
APC chairman Adamu Garba also compared the supposed disciple of Kanu, Simon Ekpa, to the late Abubakar Shekau, the head of Boko Haram.
Ekpa should be dealt lightly, according to Garba, and deplatformed from social media.
Boko Haram Leader, Abubakar Shekau Reveals Why He Can’t Be Arrested
According to Ekpa: “As Nnamdi Kanu of IPOB is like Mohammed Yusuf of Boko Haram, so is Simon Ekpa of IPOB, who is like Abubakar Shekau of Boko Haram.
“Oftentimes, second-in commands are more violent. We shouldn’t treat this Ekpa guy with levity.
“As a patriotic duty, we should unite & deplatform Ekpa.”
Ekpa was charged with trying to wipe out the Southeast by ordering people to stay at home late last year.
IPOB, however, disassociated itself from the Ekpa sit-at-home directive.
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo socio-political group demanded Ekpa’s arrest as a result.
